About me

My name is Larisa Loke (Yen Chin), and I am a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern University (Evanston, IL). I am working under the supervision of Dr Brenna D. Argall at argallab, located in the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, IL.

My research interests are in rehabilitation and assistive robotics, with a focus on the following topics:

  • Formalizing design of human-robot interaction paradigms, allowing end users to specify their needs.
  • How signals from assistive machine control interfaces can be captured and interpreted in a way that better retains the richness of the signal, to improve control of assistive devices.
